I obtained a BS in Biology & Chemistry from UMass, Dartmouth, with additional post-graduate work at the University of Rhode Island and Connecticut College. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard I worked for them as a civilian scientist at their R&D Center in Groton, CT. After that we moved back to MA and I worked in Industry (Chemical Processing), which included Quality Supervision/Management positions and ancillary duties with Environmental Responsibilities. Subsequently I took a position leading a team of Environmental professionals for the state of MA, Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs. I gradually advanced to add training coordinator responsibilities and eventually became the Chief of Technical Services. I retired from this position in June, 2015 and am now working part-time as a contractor for the American Certification Corporation, Inc.
