To the Great Class of 1965,

I was truly looking forward to attending our 45th Reunion but unfortunately my Mother passed and we buried her on Tuesday so I'm really not in the spirit if you know what I mean?  I hope you all have a wonderful time and post pictures and let me know what I missed.

Take care and I hope to see everyone at the next reunion!

 Dear Barbara,

Losing a mother is a terrible thing.  Just try to remember the great sadness you feel now will one day be replaced with all the very fond memories you have.

Dear Sandy and Stan

I was really looking forward to seeing you both.  It's been a very long time. Maybe we'll see each other at the fiftieth.  God willing.  You will be missed tonight.  I enjoyed seeing the picture of your beautiful family.  You have been truly blessed!   Be well and  may God continue to bless you.  Margie

What a great two days!!  Thanks to the hard working committee who indeed deserve a standing ovation.

Without your hard work, we wouldn't have been able to connect with old friends and make new ones.

Hopefully we will not have to wait 5 years for another reunion.  In five years we will not be able to dance as long.  But we will give it a good try.

Also the tour of the old New Bedford High was indeed a high light of the weekend.  For those that missed it, it was truly a walk back in time.  We even got somewhat lost just like when we were sophmores!!.  The stage and gym had seemed so hugh and now seemed to fade back in time.

We all took pictures of us sitting in those seats with both old and new friends.

I all I can say is thank you to the committee you accomplished your goal!!

This past weekend was the most wonderful time. I am still "high" thinking about it. I really had a hard time not crying when I hugged some of you. Life is not easy, and it seems that many of us have faced some pretty difficult times, but we have persevered through the Grace of God. Aren`t we truly blessed to have been a part of "1965? " I think we did not realize it then, but what a wondeful Heritage is ours. To our committee, ...for all the meetings, notes, phone calls, missed dinners, and frustration, ...thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What a lot of work went into this weekend. Thank you to everyone on the committee for all your efforts to see that all the events went so smoothly. The reunion on Saturday evening was somewhat  bittersweet  due to memories of friends no longer with us. Aside from that it was heart warming to see so many old friends and make a couple of new ones. Thank you all so very much and many blessings.............

To the committee,  Thank you so much for all your hard work.  It was good to see old friends and classmates.  The music was awesome and we still have what it takes to get on the dance floor and dance the night away.  If you need any help for the next reunion, count me in.  Thanks again.

We just returned to Michigan via an Erie, PA visit with relatives.  I hated that I had to leave the reunion by 11 to get on the road by 6 AM.  I was having such a wonderful time greeting old friends & making new ones.  My kudos to the committee.  You did a wonderful job.!!!  I hesitated on going to the reunion as friends told me (not NBHS Class of 65 friends, mind you) that at reunions they had attended, folks tended to sit at tables with their old friends & there wasn't much mixing.  Also, I was concerned that I wouldn't recognize anyone.  Well, we have certainly aged well as I recognized most folks - those smiles don't fade with age.  We sure are a good looking & fun loving bunch!  And the committee kept folks mingling.  Thank you for a wonderful evening & the chance to make and share more memories with the best class at NBHS.  Go Class of 65!

Hi everybody:

As I type, I'm looking at my NBHS '65 class ring.  Yep, I'm still wearing it.  I put it on before I got on the plane to Mass, July 30th and now back home in Florida, I'm afraid that if I take it off I'll stop feeling like a girl and will begin feeling like a middle -aged schooll marm, heaven forbid.  Seriously, looking at Amelia's, Rita's album and my own makes me smile and am grateful to all who made it possible.  Till we meet again,

Maria de Melo Gulla

Patricia Dragon and her son TIM want me to whole heartedly thank the committee for inviting them as guests to the reunion . The class of 65 and committee with Hank and Nancy at the helm pulled off this magnificent evening. Tricia wants everyone to know that she will never forget this memorable evening. It was the first social event she had attended in more than 25 years and everyone made her feel like "queen for a day". I was so pleased to see so many classmates go out of their way and come over to her wheel chair to talk.

I am Trisha's old, new friend. We have reunited after 45 years and I will not let her out of my sight again.

Lastly, if there is any thought of a reunion in 5 years rather than 10, I'd be happy to be a committee member. The thought of waiting ten years scares me.

Hard to believe!

January 20th, 2011 is the 50th anniversary of JFK's inauguration.  Thinking about it and all the anticipation we felt, all the optimism.

Hard to believe!

Glad to hear we will be reuniting again this coming August.  I really enjoyed our get together on Friday evening at the Waterfront Grille.  It was a great way for all of us to get reaquainted and share some memories.  Thanks Nancy, Maria and Henry for all your dedication and  to help keep us all connected again.

It's Groundhog Day! One of my favorite movies, also it feels like living in the movie with all the snow we've been getting every week. I live in Natick,MA. I can't wait for spring. This summer my town is getting a traveling half size Vietnam war memorial for a few days. I don't know of any of our classmates are listed on the wall. Does any one know of any one listed there? I would like to pay my respects to them.

We were a very lucky class, as we had a lot of members serve in Vietnam, in all branches of the service, but we didn't have anyone killed over there. We had a lot of our members come back with a lot of problems because of what went on over there, and what they did or saw. A lot have gotten help and some keep on fighting the same fight. For some it will NEVER end. If you look at our military page, you can see who served and when.

As a person who has talked to a lot of Veterans,  both from our class and others, Yes some did die there, "mentaly". They will never come fully home, but their names are not on the Wall.

If you gat a chance to see it, PLEASE DO, and remember, MOST OF THEIR LIVES ENDED THERE, A LONG WAY FROM HOME.

Roger Goyette, 1968-69 Vietnam vet.

Well I did make it through that ugly winter, and as I promised myself I am not complaining about 90 degree temps. Just go from air conditioned house to car and enjoy it. I did see the VietNam war memorial last month at even at half size it was quite rerkable. I would like to let all know that I submitted my yearbook [yes I still have it after 7 moves since high school] to Classmates.com and it is available online for all to see. I know from all the classmates I have contacted that many no longer have their yearbooks so have nice trip down memory lane.
