I felt sad when I read that Deana Lipman had  passed away.  It's been fun to hear about how former classmates are doing, but the sad part about reconnecting is hearing about those who left us so soon.  I remember Deana as a gentle, quiet and sweet girl.  May she rest in peace.

I was so sad to hear Deana had passed away. We were such close friends in high school and for several years afterwards. I miss the long conversations we used to have on the phone when we could not get together as often as we would have like to. Her husband Ronnie was a wonderful guy. I miss the good times the four of us had together. I hope her family will always remember what a special woman she was.

My dear friend Deena, It has been many years since we have spoken, but so often I wondered where you were and how you were doing.  A flood of memories came to mind when I was told of your passing. I remember playing paper dolls on the front porch, wearing those silly woolen slacks under our skirts when it was cold outside, (my mother would bribe us with $1.00 per week if we wore them when walking to Keith Junior High School), our Girl Scout Camp days, and our long talks about who knows what. I am sorry I never did get in touch with you, but hope you are at peace now. Your childhood friend, Amelia

When spring finally came around and I was off to the pond with a can of night crawlers and my trusty fishing pole,  I would pass Deena's house on Lake Street. She was always in her yard with friends and often asked to look in the can and would curl her lips roll her eyes and I would laugh at the sight.  Winter came and I was often at the frozen pond, on my back, Deena looking down on me and laughing. She would have brought lots of neighborhood stories to the renunion and I looked foward to that.
