I remember Ruth from Senior Year at NBHS.  She always had a smile.  She was a friend to all who knew her. She will be fondly missed at the 50th NBHS Class of 1965 Reunion.  RIP Ruth.

I was very sad to see posts about Ruth Perry Bates passing away.  She was friendly to all.  I admired her and enjoyed conversations with her sometimes in High School.  She was so gifted and lived life to the fullest.  I was hoping we'd see her at our 50th.  May she rest in peace.

Ruth was a very special person with a huge heart.  Her words: "Take joy in each breath - each and every moment you still have live.  Get outside, notice all that is Good and Beautiful in the world - sunrises & sunsets, the moon & stars, animals, flowers, birds and bees, trees, wind, rain, snow and most of all the people who put up with you.  Cherish them, tell them how much you love them and hold them close.  And be thankful for whatever you are still capable of doing, feeling, thinking, which means no dwelling on tomorrow and the negatives that may or may not come to pass."  Ruth Bates

As I said, she was a very special person!

Ruth was one of the smartest people I ever met in junior high school. She was always a sweet person and the last time I saw her she told me about her son who had passed away.  Now they are together again. Peace be with you always.

I was deeply saddened to read of Ruthies passing.  Being out of the area, I hadn't seen her seen our 10 year reunion, but thought of her often as I would thumb thru the yearbook. We became friends in Jr. High, and I con only imagine how she impacted so many by reading her obit. I'm sure she has found people to help in heaven.  Rest in peace.

This piece was on the Cape NPR radio station.

It’s beautiful.

Beautiful article and so true.  She was really a wonderful person with abounding goodness - a real cheerleader in the best sense of the word.  May she rest in peace.
