Another Update on the Twins
Posted Saturday, November 21, 2015 11:59 AM

The DeTerra Grand Twins are still in Minnesota after 241 days away from home.  Elisabeth is doing pretty well and her stem cell graft has worked.  Grayson had his second try at stem cell transplant in early October and the blood counts are promising.  It appears that the engraftment is working....so far.  He has had more bumps in the road than did Ellisabeth, including a recent pericardial effusion (fluid in the sac around the heart) which has now been drained.  He will still be there with Elisabeth, his Mom, Katie, and her Dad, for another 2-3 months while the doctors determine that the transplant has taken hold and is working properly.  There are so many sick children there, many worse off than the Grand Twins.  Please pray for them as well. Babies and toddlers should not know pain of the body, only feelings of periodic hunger and desire to play and be happy.  They don't know the World as we do and they should not be burdened with sickness while they can avoid knowing what they will eventually encounter.  Please pray for them all, that they smile and laugh and play and be well.

As the holidays approach I think of them and all children who are ill or in pain .... keep them all in your warm thoughts  ....may there be a light to brighten their paths!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

From Ray De Terra

August 14, 2016

Final comments and thank you's to all of my classmates who cared to care about my twin Grand Children.

The DeTerra Grand Children, Elisabeth and Grayson are doing well, after a year in Minnesota getting stem cell transplants and several other bumps in the road at home in Samammish, WA. Elisabeth, in particular, is a typical 2 1/2 year old, talking, walking, being full of mischief. Grayson has had more issues and is not quite walking yet. Most of his issue stem from an earlier episode of near SIDS when he was less than two months old and suffered some brain damage while he was down for 45 minutes and on life support. Still, he is a smiley little guy and will always have a great disposition. We love them both and thank everyone who loves and cares without even knowing them.
