It was suggested by a classmate that in two years the (majority) of the class of '65 will turn 65 and that a get together class 'birthday party' might be something that we might want to do .. it would get those who want another 'reunion' together and maybe get those who missed the last one to come to their 'birthday party'.  Summertime somewhere in New Bedford.... it might not be a bad idea ... we aren't getting any younger!

Yes.....great idea!  I couldn't make the reunion because of illness, but I sure would like to be at the next get-together.

I believe we could get a local ferry boat and take a 'cruise to nowhere' through the bay or even take a cruise through the Cape Cod Canal.  There are also dinner trains in Newport and Hyannis ... or just an evening at a local restaurant or in a local 'hall' with catered food... lots of possibilities ...We would have a year and 1/2 to plan if we shoot for sometime in July 2012 ... when we (mostly) will be 65. 

Is there a committe to be formed to plan this?  Will the reunion group take it on?   What do the existing committe and other classmates think?

David, I love the idea of a cruise to anywhere.  The dinner train would be too confining I think.  How about chartering your boat for a fishing trip?  I'd like to do that anyway?  I think the committee could handle this.  What do others think?

My boat is TOO small for a large number , but if there is interest I know a few guys who have larger boats that can take a few people .. or we can get a few small boats and have a contest of sorts .. plenty of options .. we just need dates and we can then make plans ...

There's a great little cruise available in Warren RI. Check the Bay Queen website. Leaves out of Warren and cruises through Newport harbor. A DJ can be hired and enough room to dance.

I have taken the Cruise on the Bay Queen out of Warren RI and it was great.

It can be arranged with a Theme I think if we take the whole boat over.  I know that I went on it out of Fall River once since the Fall River Chamber of Commerece  and rented it. 

It is a buffett and plenty of room on the dance floor.  It usually goes to Newport and back. 

I think it sailed at 6:00p.m. and back @ 11:00 or so.

You can also mingle on the deck if it is a nice summer night. 

I think it would be great since we are not getting any younger and need to all keep in touch. 

 I'm up for any fun get-together!
