"That Girl"

She was bright and full of energy.  Her classes were always exciting and certainly memorable. Everytime I look at a big word, with many syllables, I am always looking for the Latin root.

But, besides being humorous and talented, she was dedicated, engaging and concerned. Though I have not seen her in years, I consider her a friend and mentor.  Can you imagine, stopping by a teacher's home on a Saturday afternoon- just to say hello? Don't think you can do that today.  Can you imagine, turning to your high school English teacher during a crisis situation - a 10 PM?  Don't think you can do that today.

Miss Peters was there for me  - to listen, counsel and teach.  What a great teacher.  What a great person.  What an inspiration.

Thank you Mary-Ann (Peters) Chomak

Oh yes, I LOVED her as a teacher... She was dedicated and enthusiastic and patient and kind... her classroom was a SAFE HAVEN for me... and her smile lit up the room. Her constructive criticism was always delivered with care and with the sense that each of the students in her classes had the ability to learn and to become...There was also a spiritual nature to many of her classes, when she asked questions and asked us just to THINK about what our individual answer might be. I am a writer (among other things!) and thank her in my heart often and sincerely.
