Who can forget Thursday night downtown?   Remember walking the block and stopping at Liggets for a vanilla coke?  Was that George driving by in that 55 Chevy?

I remember going to the movies on Saturday afternoons with some friends.  We would stop at Grant's to buy our popcorn then go to Planters to buy some nuts.  But we always bought our soda (crummy movie theater soda) from the soda machine in the lobby.

The other night on my way home from work I stopped at a Krispy Kreme Donut shop here in North Myrtle Beach to buy some warm glazed donuts to take home.  On the way home I started to think about Lorrrains Coffee Shop, that was on the east side of Purchase St. that had the donut machine in the window.  That place always smelled so good when we walked by.  Many times I would run into my grandmother downtown an she would take me there to get a donut with her before she got the bus home.
