Who followed the Beatles?

The question was: Who followed the Beatles after their historic first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show? Choices were: an opera singer, a magician, a dog act, a comedian. The music started up and as I sat in the surgeon's waiting room, I looked up from the magazine I was leafing through and thought, "Someone followed the Beatles?" Immediately I visualized our living room, the black and white TV, my sisters in ecstasy, my mother in the front parlor at our home in North Front Street. I remember the whole performance, then we were yelling and all talking at once and they came back again, the iconic songs, Paul and John, George and Ringo and then I remember them talking to Ed. I remember them being introduced as a group from England for the Youngsters. I now admit, I don't have any idea, but no opera singer would agree to follow the Beatles. This was an episode of "Who wants to be a millionaire "which I rarely watch, but now I was riveted. the contestant was fairly young, not a baby boomer and she said, well, that is before my time, I have no idea I'll jump the question. Meredith Viera said I was around at that time and I don't remember. I looked around, no one was really watching, or no reaction from all the people.

I thought great trivia question. I couldn't wait to go home and ask my Beatles loving sisters the question. do you know?

It's fun to reminisce about old TV shows, events and day to day special occasions when we were growing up. I enjoy special TV shows on the 60s and when there is a retrospective on icons of our time, I never fail to watch it and it never fails to make me smile I love quiz shows, Trivia Pursuit, Jeopardy and when a question comes up about our era, I feel special.

This was a week ago or so, since then I saw on Facebook a whole line of posts about favorite old shows llike "The Twilight Zone."  Anyone want to share?
